I’ve also gathered side dishes, ideas for variations and background information to go with the main dishes, and in some cases linked them to personal experiences.
The recipes on Lecker-Wirtz.de have all been cooked, barbecued, baked or stewed by me. My personal collection of recipes. I discovered most of them somewhere, tried them out and, over time, refined them and adapted them to my own taste.
I’ve also included tips on shopping and preparation, recommendations for drinks, and background information on spices and herbs.

There a a lot more recipes “untranslated” in my German Lecker-Wirtz Rezepte site.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about the recipes
How do I find a specific recipe on Lecker-Wirtz?
You can search for the recipe via the recipe overview (A–Z), by topic (e.g. meat dishes, baking bread, pizza, dips, etc.), or using the site’s search function. Many recipes are also sorted by difficulty and method of preparation.
What categories are there on Lecker-Wirtz and how are the recipes organised?
There are many categories such as meat dishes, fish & seafood, baking bread, soups & stews, pizza, drinks and much more. There are also sub-categories such as spices/herbs, international cuisine and special themes like ‘Leichter Wirtz’. Each category offers thematically relevant recipes and background information.
What does ‘Leichter Wirtz’ mean?
‘Leichter Wirtz’ is a section dedicated to healthy eating. Here, Christof Wirtz shows how he has lost weight and adopted a healthier lifestyle through small changes to his diet. The recipes in this section are chosen to be filling yet balanced.
Are the recipes on Lecker-Wirtz suitable for beginners?
Yes, many recipes are beginner-friendly. There are simple recipes that are straightforward to prepare and have a manageable list of ingredients. At the same time, there are also more challenging recipes or special variations for more experienced cooks. If a recipe is difficult, the level of difficulty is often indicated.
Can I adapt the recipes (e.g. for vegetarians or people with allergies)?
Absolutely – many recipes can be adapted. For example, by replacing meat with pulses, adjusting the spices, or adapting them to suit allergies (e.g. gluten-free, fewer dairy products). The blog often provides ideas for variations and tips.
How can I take good photos and present the recipes attractively?
The blog itself offers some tips – good lighting, natural light sources, attractive decoration, neat image composition, clear step-by-step photos, etc. A clean layout in the text structure also helps (subheadings, paragraphs, ingredients and steps listed separately).
How up-to-date are the recipes, and how often is new content added?
The blog is updated regularly. New recipes, categories and topics are constantly being added, and existing posts are revised. Sections such as ‘Pizza Recipes’ in particular are regularly expanded with new doughs, toppings, etc.
Is there a way to save favourite recipes or find them again later?
There is currently no built-in favourites or save function. However, you can bookmark recipes or save them in your browser. I may introduce a feature for personal recipe lists or wishlists in the future.
How reliable are the recipes – have they been tried and tested?
Yes, all the recipes have been cooked, baked, barbecued or prepared in a Dutch oven etc. by Christof Wirtz himself, tried and tested, and refined over time.
Where can I get hold of the equipment or special ingredients recommended in some of the recipes?
There’s the Lecker-Wirtz Shop, which lists many recommended items of equipment and ingredients, often with affiliate links. Sources are also mentioned in the recipes themselves if anything specific is required.
