Bratwurst doner – Böner – the quick doner

Bratwurst doner – Böner – the quick doner – If you are hungry for a doner, but don’t have a 5 kg doner spit at home, you can quickly prepare a delicious doner from the pan. Simply work a conventional sausage with the peeler and fry the sausage strips, and the doner meat is ready. I am realy not sure if “doner” is the right translation for “Döner”.

The original doner kebab has now evolved into the doner kebab. Here, the sucuk is cut open and used as a substitute for the doner meat in a similar way to the doner here.

Ingredients

Doner meat

1 sausage
Pul Biber
2 tablespoons olive oil
Spices (oregano, mint, cumin, paprika)
Salt and pepper

Garnishes

1/2 cucumber
2 tomatoes
Coleslaw
Cacik or tzatziki
Doner sauce

Cut the meat into thin strips and sear on all sides. Add spices and sprinkle with thinly sliced onion rings. I know this sounds a bit more like gyros than kebab. Doner kebab has more minced meat in it, and the individual doner kebab strips are freshly cut from doner kebab skewers.

Serve the sausage doner

Arrange on a warmed plate with doner meat, add a few slices of cucumber and quartered tomatoes. Serve with cacik and Bosporus doner sauce.
