According to some reports in the press, kebab pasta is on the menu of the German national football team. I tried it out and changed it a little and have to say that it tastes very good. I also made a kebab sauce to go with it. You can choose between Döner Sauce Bosporus and Döner Sauce Urfa.
Ingredients
for 4 persons
600 g lamb
600 g pasta
1/2 tbsp. feta
2 tbsp. biber salcasi
1 cucumber
2 tomatoes
1 onion
1 tsp Pul Biber
1/2 tsp cumin
2 cloves garlic
1/2 lemon
Pepper and salt
Doner sauce Bosporus, Doner sauce Urfa or Cacik
Cook the pasta al dente according to the instructions on the packet.
Have the lamb finely sliced at MdV or cut it into thin strips yourself at home.
Tip:
First fry the lamb whole, then cut into thin slices and fry these again briefly in a very hot pan with a little olive oil.
Reduce the heat and add the spices and the biber salcasi. Stir and leave to stand for 5 min.
Finely slice the cucumber, tomato and onions.
Drain the pasta, reserving some of the pasta water. Mix the pasta with the sautéed lamb and stir with some of the pasta water to a creamy consistency. Add a few squirts of lemon juice on top.
Serve
Place the kebab pasta on a plate and sprinkle with crumbled feta. Serve with the cucumber, tomato and onions and the kebab sauce. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and pul biber and serve with a piece of pita bread and some coleslaw.
Variations
Sucuk pasta the footballer’s favourite dish
