Crispy chicken wings

Crispy chicken wings with the Crispy Chicken Rub. Sensationally delicious chicken wings with the secret ingredient baking powder. By chance, while browsing through various chicken recipes, I came across baking powder. It extracts water from the skin and ensures that it becomes crispy.

Before I sacrifice a whole roast chicken for this, I’d rather try it out on some chicken wings.

Conclusion

Sensational! It gets super crispy and has no flavour of its own.

Ingredients

6-8 chicken wings or buns

Crispy Chicken Rub

1 teaspoon baking powder
4 tsp salt
1 tsp ground pepper
2 tsp paprika powder, sweet
1 tsp smoked paprika powder
1/2 tsp curry
optional 1 tsp garlic powder

Mix everything together well for the rub.

Rub the chicken wings all over and leave to marinate for 1-2 hours.

Preheat the oven to 190 °C and place the chicken wings on a baking tray with baking paper. If you use Bölleken, you can use the pot lid holder from the Swede as an ideal hanger for the chicken pieces.

Bake for approx. 20 min until they are nice and crispy.

Serve

Arrange on a plate and serve immediately.
