Feta Saganaki - Überbackener Schafskäse

Feta Saganaki – gratinated feta cheese

Feta Saganaki – gratinated feta cheese with a base of braised peppers, tomato and onion. You can also gratinate the feta without the “vegetable bed”. It tastes much more intense with it.

Ingredients

(for 2 persons)

2 slices of feta
2 tablespoons tomato purée
1 pepper, tomato and onion each
2 cloves of garlic
2 tbsp oregano
Olive oil
Salt and pepper

Peel and finely dice the onions and garlic. Fry both in a pan until golden. In the meantime, wash and finely dice the pepper and tomato. Add to the pan.

Simmer on a low heat for approx. 30 min.

Preheat the oven to 180 °C and brush 2 small moulds with a little olive oil. Spread the mixture from the pan on top and place the feta slices in the middle.

Spoon some of the sauce over the feta.

Bake in the oven for approx. 20 min until the feta is buttery soft.

Serve

Sprinkle some herbs e.g. oregano on top and serve with some pita bread.

It was very (!) tasty.
