Gyrosplate complete, the classic from the snack bar. I realy don’t know, if in the rest of the world someone understands what “Gyrosteller komplett” means. In Germany it say gyros, cole slaw, tzatziki and french fries. But today with cabbage salad from the pointed cabbage*, tzatziki and potatoes from the hot air fryer. The gyros are two pork neck steaks that I had left over from the barbecue the day before. I cut them into small pieces, fried them in a pan, seasoned them and the gyros were ready.
(*intersting translation: Spitzkohl = pointed cabbage)
Ingredients
Gyros meat
200 g pork neck
1 red onion
1 tsp oregano
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp savory
salt and pepper
Side dishes
150 g potatoes
Tzatziki
Cabbage salad from pointed cabbage
Hot air fry potatoes
Wash and halve or quarter the potatoes. Steep in a little salted water for 15 minutes,
Then deep-fry in a hot air fryer for 25 min with a little oil.
Slice 1/2 onion into thin strips and chop the rest.
Cut the neck steak into thin strips and sear in a pan with a little oil. Add the oregano, chopped onion and some savoury and reduce the heat.
I had the slaw from the pointed cabbage from the day before, as well as the tzatziki.
Serve the gyrosplate
Arrange the gyro meat on a warmed plate, place the onion rings on top and arrange the potatoes, coleslaw and tzatziki next to it.
